2010 Toyota Corolla Oil Type

When you need an oil change on your 2010 Toyota Corolla, it is important to use the recommended type and weight of motor oil. You can find this information in your car’s manual or on a sticker that is located somewhere inside the driver’s side door frame.

If you do not have access to this type of information, your car dealership may be able to give you the correct oil weight and model for your specific vehicle. The amount of oil needed depends on the car and how much it has been driven.

VISCOSITY GRADE

Toyota recommends using engine oil “Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” of viscosity SAE 5W-20 or SAE 0W-20. However, SAE
0W-20 is the best choice for good fuel economy and good starting in cold weather.

CAPACITY

The oil capacity with the filter of 1.8L 4-cylinder  (2ZR-FE) engine is 4.4 quarts (4.2 liters), whereas, for 2.4L 4-cylinder (2AZ-FE) engine, the capacity is 4.0 quarts (3.8 liters).

SPECIFICATION OF OIL

Toyota recommends using Toyota Genuine Motor Oil in the viscosities defined above or synthetic oil for your 2010 Toyota Corolla.

Synthetic motor oils provide excellent performance and protection to help keep the engine running smoothly, even in dirty or dusty environments. These types of lubricants are formulated using synthetic base stock fluids that resist chemical breakdown under high heat and shear forces as compared to conventional petroleum-based oils. This allows them to flow well at low temperatures so you won’t have problems starting your car on cold mornings, while also providing better protection overtime against corrosion and sludge build-up which can lead to costly repairs down the line.

You can also use an oil that meets the Toyota specification and is certified by International Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) for gasoline engines next brands:

  • PENNZOIL
  • MOBIL
  • CASTROL

2010 Toyota Corolla Oil Change Intervals

2010-toyota-corolla-oil-change7

The 2010 Toyota Corolla requires an oil change every year or every five thousand miles, whichever comes first.

It is essential to get your car serviced before time runs out because an oil change means more than just changing the engine’s lubricant. The process requires other services such as flushing and replacing air filters; it also allows for a visual inspection of various other parts in order to prevent further damage down the line.

It is also important to note that not all Toyota Corollas are created equal when it comes to maintenance intervals – some models require servicing after eight thousand miles while others go longer without needing an oil change at twelve thousand miles depending on use patterns and driving conditions.
