2016 Mazda CX 5 Oil Change Intervals

2016-mazda-cx-5-oil-change5

The oil change intervals for the 2016 Mazda CX 5 are estimated to be every 10000 miles or 12 months. The vehicle should not require an oil and filter change before this time has elapsed.

If you’d like, consider changing your own oil with a trusted brand of auto parts instead of taking it into your dealer each time.

It is also recommended that drivers check their engine oil levels at least once per month during cold weather conditions when the engine may take longer to reach its normal operating temperature.

Checking engine fluids regularly can help prevent bigger problems later on down the road where more expensive repairs would need to be done including replacing major car components such as engines, transmissions, etc…

Then pop the hood you want to go over, take off the oil cap, and leave it open that you can breathe and the oil drains a lot faster and easier. And before you go any further make sure you have all the necessary tools.

Necessary tools:

  • 3/8″ Drive 8mm Deep Socket
  • 3/8″ Drive 8mm Hex Bit Socket
  • Motor Oil of viscosity 0W-20
  • Oil Filter
  • Drain Plug
  • Crush Washers (5)

STEP 2: TO TAKE THE ACCESS PANEL OFF

Now take the access panel off to get to all the oil change stuff, make sure you have a ratchet with a flat head for the access panel, there’s going to be one or two little holders there that you’re going to get pop out gently. Yet you’re going to want some crushed washers.

Now take the access panel off to get to all the oil change stuff, make sure you have a ratchet with flat head and 8-millimeter socket for the access panel, there’s going to be one or two little holders there that you’re going to get pop out gently. Yet you’re going to want some crush washers. Now you see the drain plug for the oil name, take this off manually. If does not work, you can go ahead and grab a small oil filter wrench here and in getting it off by using wrench.

Now oil will be little by little that comes out. So make sure you put your oil drain pan. Let oil drain for a good 5 – 10 minutes.

See, still draining and then you need to have a drain plug for seal, which is a crush washer. It crushes against the drain plug and keeps a good seal so you don’t have a leak. So you take off the old washer and you take the new one you put it on.

STEP 4: PUT BACK THE DRAIN PLUG

Put back the drain plug and tighten it in a clockwise direction. You can use your fingers to do this or you may have to use a tool designed for tightening oil pan plugs. Once done, open up the hood of your car and check if there is any leakage from either end of the drain plug.

STEP 5: REPLACE THE OIL FILTER

Replace the oil filter on the engine oil dipstick. It is long and narrow, with a round handle at one end. Pull out the dipstick completely then re-insert it fully into its slot. Remove it again once more, noting that there are two marks or lines inside of which indicate low and high oil levels in your car 2016 Mazda CX 5. The mark closest to you represents “Min” while the other shows “Max” for the maximum capacity.

STEP 6: ADD THE NEW OIL

After the old oil filter is removed, you will need to add in new engine oil.

Open up the engine oil cap and slowly start to pour in your new motor oil. I recommend a funnel for this process, as it will make it easier if you have any bubbles or spills with adding in the new engine oil.

If there is an overflow of extra engine oil that comes out from draining/refilling, be sure to wipe it down around the area so there are no leaks under your Mazda CX 5. In addition, always check on how much is being added into your vehicle by looking at the dipstick located near where you’re pouring in all of these fluids – just place it back into its original position once you’re done!

STEP 7: PUT BACK THE COVER

Once you have finished draining the oil and replacing it with new, replace the cover on top of your engine. Make sure that it is fitted in place firmly so that no more leaking can occur. If there are still some drops coming out from around this area, check to see if the gasket has been placed properly.

Done! Enjoy fresh clean oil within your 2016 Mazda CX 5! |
